Hi. I was wondering... is the intention to leave the rest of the painting, the rest of the figure, very loosley rendered, so as to keep the focus on the face? If not, I would recommend working into some of the areas a bit, in order to build the entire piece up as a whole. Build some contrast into the shirt, for example? I know that when I over-obsess about one aspect of an image the frustration that I can't solve my difficulties becomes palpable.
Thanx. Yeah I'll getto it. I had a really hard time with the likeness and I have been spending most of my time trying to get that. In my next session I am going to expand. Also I have unstretched this canvas I will iether restretch it on a bigger stretcher, or mount it on a board or another stretched canvas. Ahh what I do for art...
Coming along nicely, Roman.
Ahh, the likeness is much better.
You chose a tough angle to paint, but you're working it well.
