I like the color contrasts in this one. Something strikes me as strange about the extended arm - perhaps the forearm is a bit long in proportion? However, she looks like a supernatural creature to me, so that might have been your intended effect ;]

Good idea! I like the pose and the feeling the piece. I think the way the hair goes out of the page is a little akward, and the piece feels a bit monocromatic. Also i think it would help a lot for next time if you used reference, especially areas such as the face and hands. I like the hair the way it is, but I think it would be a great contrast to use something imaginative like that and mix it with something that was inspired by reference. The problem in this piece is a good one, because you do not want to have a situation where you are so stuck to reference that the piece looks stiff, this situation is one that is much easier to make better.

Thanks for the great input M and Rome! You've given me some great ideas of things to further explore.

Question:
The things you've noted that are less strong, do they bother you in the sketch as well, or just the painted piece? This'll help me figure out where I can start re-evaluating.

Thanks :) !

Yes, I see now, the drawing is a little better in the sketch, it gets worse when you paint on it, that's a common problem, especially if you start making up things, try the reference idea I think it will be dinomite for you, I just posed for my friend for his painting, and the pics turned out really well, if anyone needs a model tell me...
