Here are my 3 entries to Illustrators 51! I am using 2 of the vinyls I did, and today I worked a little more on my devil dj painting. Enjoy!

So I got the hand in, bt it looks, not so much. I will keep on husslin, husslin.

I jhave unstretched the canvas and now I am starting to expand it.

stage 4, damn polina and her likeness!!

So this is where I am at. I have been trying to get Polina's likeness for a while now, and I will do it, even if its the last thing I do!

I have painted the head over about 7 times already, and in the process it has become bigger. Looks like I will have to restretch this baby, Thanx Polina! hehe just kidding.

stage 2 and 3

Here is stage 2 and 3 in reverse order. I am still struggling with the drawing and likeness. It has also proven to be a challenge to keep make the figure stand well in the space, while also portraying the "from the bottom" perspective.

Here are some skeches I have done for the vinyl show coming up, which me patrick and polina are all in...I have taken political personalities and put them in star wars roles! more to come!

I htought this piece was finished, but I think I need to do some adjustments on it. But I felt like I really hit something with it stylistically...I was trying to convey a sense of magic in jazz. The piece is called "song of the people", the jazz player plays his sax and the notes of the song become his audience...almost like he doesn't need much else but his music, which is his best friend.

I was also trying to mold he background with the foreground. i think the transition between the people and the music needs a little work, but expect but pieces like this from me!!

any comments?

This is a painting I did during my senior year in college. It is of a professor in school. It was fun going to his studio and posing him. In this painting I tried to capture a moment of thought, a pause between the lines of a drawing...
